Arturo Morin

Arturo Morín (b. 1953, Mexico City) is a Mexican painter and architect. He studied architecture at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and has dedicated himself to architecture and the visual arts since 1980, developing his artistic practice as a self-taught painter.

Known for his expressive use of color and the human figure, Morín also works in sculpture and mixed media. His artwork explores themes ranging from everyday life to imaginative subjects, using techniques including acrylic, oil, pastel, charcoal, and enamel on paper, canvas, wood, and stone.

Since 1982, Morín has participated in more than 80 solo and group exhibitions in Mexico and internationally, including the United States, Spain, Austria, the Netherlands, Chile, and Argentina. His work has been featured at Agora Gallery in New York, selected for the Arad Biennial in Romania (2005), and included in the XIII Tamayo Painting Biennial (2006). To date, Morín has created more than 2,500 original works and has been recognized among Mexico's 100 most important living painters by the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes.
