Artist statement
Nina Surel, born in Buenos Aires, studied Fashion and Textile Design at U.B.A. and Costume & Set Design at Teatro Colón. Based in Miami since 2001, her ceramic practice explores rites of passage, fertility, and transformation through material and form, engaging Florida’s ecological and pre-colonial narratives.
She has exhibited internationally at venues including Art Basel Miami Beach (2024), NADA New York (2025), and Miami Design District, with works in major public and private collections such as Miami International Airport and El Espacio 23.
