Jorge Seguí

Jorge Seguí is a Argentine sculptor whose work explores the conceptual and formal boundaries between the human figure and everyday objects. Working primarily in bronze, Seguí fuses bodies with furniture, architecture, and domestic forms to create sculptures that question the relationship between person and environment, between subject and object. His figures inhabit — and are inhabited by — the structures around them, blurring the line between animate and inanimate. Seguí’s work is rooted in a surrealist tradition, drawing on the language of metamorphosis and transformation to produce objects that are simultaneously familiar and uncanny. His bronze sculptures are notable for their rich dark patinas and occasional use of gilded surfaces, creating dramatic contrasts that draw the eye to moments of particular significance — a face, a hand, a point of contact between body and form.
